Before the world all went to shit, Micah was just another spoiled rich kid living the dream and paying for it off his parents' old money. He was twelve years old when his father was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Shortly after the diagnosis the older Bartlett began grooming son to take over the family trade, and when he kicked the bucket eleven months later Micah's uncle took over the task. Even in those final months it was sometimes difficult to separate reality from the delusions of the illness. With his uncle, though, the issue was separating truth from conspiracy theory and megalomania.
He was fifteen the first time he participated in one of his uncle's arms deals. Four dozen RPGs to a small Yugoslavian resistance movement. It was a decent payout, and Micah's uncle lined his pockets nicely for the small amount of grunt work he did. For a while after his uncle seemed even more erratic and volatile than usual, but it seemed that Micah had won a way into his good graces. From there on out nothing went down without him at the man's side.
In 2009 Micah's uncle set up a sale of eight M110 SASS rifles to Coalition soldiers fighting in Iraq. When the representative from Ukraine tried to roll over on the deal, things got a little heated. Twenty-six year old Micah watched as his uncle went down in a hale of gunfire before taking a couple of bullets himself. In the wake of his uncle's death and his own injuries, Micah began to investigate. And the more he learned the less he liked. While his father's involvement is still unclear to him, what he does know is that his uncle played him in a big way.
Micah's spent a good long while trying to pick up the pieces of his broken life. But now he's got his father's money, his uncle's connections, and he's looking for justice.
